Bodie, the dog, likes to chew on things. Firewood, ears, shoes, the couch, the cats, lapels, buttons, whatever. She seems to have a preference for my things, once destroying a chapstick, some mutual-fund paperwork and my toothbrush all in a 45 second period when neither of us was in the room.
You can almost see where this is going, can't you?
I broke out my knitting before dinner, hoping to finish another pattern repeat on the Sailsh Sea Socks. I wanted to finish them up quickly and send them to Grandma. Frankly, I like them now that I'm approaching the end (although not enough to use the pattern again).
After dinner, Mythbusters came on and the Captain and I, starved for novelty and completely without a TV on the boat, went into the living room to watch. I left the knitting on the table. Bodie wandered around. She seemed to be getting tired, finally. After Mythbusters, I went into the kitchen for my knitting, to continue and maybe finish a pattern repeat before bed.
The results were predictable. What amazes me the most are the needles. They got pulled straight out of the socks and destroyed. They're totally gone. I found enough splinters to account for one--the other three are probably in the dog. Good. (they were my favorite set of CP bamboo, too!) I will frog back to a recoverable spot and continue, eventually. Hope I've got enough yarn now...
The pictures are low quality because the Captain took them with his phone while I tried not to commit canicide.

Do not trust this face!

But it's such a cute puppy! How could it do something so naughty?
